12th annual conference “New Customs Legislation: Theory and Practice” organized by the Transport and Customs Committee of the Association of European Businesses took place at Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya on March 10, 2016.
Alexey Sizov, Counsel and head of the customs law and external trade practice at KIAP, gave a speech on determination of jurisdiction when challenging resolutions of customs authorities about bringing to administrative liability. During his speech he revealed the reasons and consequences of the conflict between courts of arbitration and courts of general jurisdiction that occurs in the course of determination of authority to consider customs law violations.
The conference was visited by over 70 delegates, including the representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Federal Customs Service, Renault Russia, Leroy Merlin, Schneider Electric and many other importers.
