Seven Practice Areas and Six Partners of KIAP, Attorneys at Law, are recommended by International Ranking Chambers Europe 2016

Today Chambers & Partners has published a new edition of its authoritative international guide, Chambers Europe 2016. KIAP is listed among the best law firms of Russia and has been endorsed for its seven legal practices: LitigationIPCompetition/Antitrust, Tax, Corporate/M&A, Restructuring/Insolvency and Transportation: Shipping. Singled out for endorsement in their fields were six partners: Andrey Korelskiy, Ilya Ischuk, Konstantin Suvorov, Anna Grishchenkova, Mikhail Uspenskiy and Anton Samokhvalov. In this context, Restructuring/Insolvency practice has been endorsed for the first time, and apart from being mentioned in the litigation section, Ilya Ischuk has been separately endorsed for antitrust work for second year in a row.

Analysts highlight that dispute resolution area is universally recognised as one of the firm's strengths and an area where it has grown in size and profile significantly quickly: "The team works like clockwork, providing timely responses and practical advice”. Corporate disputes, antitrust, IP and employment are the areas the firm has strong experience in. Clients praise “a very commercial approach" of the litigation team as well as its availability: “I really like that I could call at night and it would get a team to work on a case right away”. Practice is popular with international clients and works in co-operation with a number of international firms.

KIAP managing partner Andrey Korelskiy is traditionally listed as its leader. Clients appreciate his “background in litigation” and say that he “advises clients on strategic issues”. Sources also rate highly the performance of Anna Grishchenkova, who joined the KIAP team in 2015, for her “knowledge of both local and international disputes”. Partner Ilya Ischuk also receives praise in the rating and is noted for his “in-depth knowledge of regulatory disputes, including competition cases”.  

The IP team is named "a highly effective and client-friendly”, “capable of handling the most complex projects”. The team "provides practical, easy-to-understand advice" - this is what clients say about the IP law team led by partner Konstantin Suvorov, who is “business-minded, very proactive and extremely hard-working" according to clients. Other clients add: "He advises on how to interpret the law and what we should do". 

The tax team is highly praised by clients: "The lawyers are responsive, client-oriented, and focus on the problem until it is solved", adding: "My impression is that the lawyers really care about our business and I can count on their legal support". Clients hold Mikhail Uspenskiy’s analytical skills in particularly high esteem, saying: "His attention to detail is good for us. New to the rankings the insolvency practice gets significantly visible in mid-market insolvency due to increasing of projects in this area. Analytics highlight the "practical experience in dealing with insolvency matters" of the team, which "represented the creditors very well".
