KIAP, Attorneys at Law, at the VIII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum 2018

From 15 to 19 May 2018 in St. Petersburg the VIII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPBILF) was held – a unique intermational event, uniting leading specialists in legal area. In 2018, representatives of the world's largest law firms, members of arbitration, constitutional, criminal and civil courts, heads of universities from dozens of countries of the world became participants and guests of the SPBILF. The business program of the forum included discussion of the latest developments in legal practice, changes in international and Russian legislation, as well as topical issues of international cooperation. In total, more than 90 events were organized within the framework of SPBILF: discussions, presentations, lectures, game trials and talk shows.

KIAP, Attorneys at law, was represented at SPBILF by managing partner Andrey Korelskiy, partner Ilya Ischuk and International commercial arbitration (ICA) practice associate, Natalia Kisliakova.

Andrey Korelskiy spoke at the discussion panel “Legal Profession: Anatomy of Survival”, which took place on May 17, 2018 in a new form of talk show. Participants discussed how do lawyers have to survive in the epoch of globalization and how to ensure the high-quality legal support when budgets are limited. Among the speakers of the event were the Head of the Legal Defense Department, Rosseti PJSC, Leonid Akimov, Managing Director of Baker Mckenzie CIS, Sergey Voytishkin, Managing Partner at PwC Legal Russia, Head of Tax Legal Practice PwC Russia, Yana Zoloeva, Head of the Legal Department, X5 Retail Group, Ekaterina Lobacheva and other lawyers.

Natalia Kisliakova participated in discussion and presentation of new educational program within the framework of session “Sports Human Rights: Issues on the Agenda”. Natalia is a member of the team of experts who developed the Human rights in sport education course - a training program for specialists in the field of ensuring more effective protection of human rights in sports. The course was developed at the platform of the Council of Europe by a working group of specialists on sports law, international arbitration and human rights, the presentation of the course was held on May 16 at the SPBILF.

The annual St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPBILF), founded in 2011, is organized with the support of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the President of the Russian Federation. Over the years, the SPBILF has emerged as a foremost international platform for discussing a broad range of urgent questions confronting the contemporary international community of legal professionals.
