During September 19-20, 2019 the 4th Eastern European Dispute Resolution Forum (EEDRF) was held in Minsk. KIAP, Attorneys at Law, was represented at the Forum by Stepan Sultanov, Associate of International commercial arbitration practice.
This year, the EEDRF was dedicated to the topic of «Procedural issues in International Arbitration and State Courts». During the Forum were discussed such important issues as the role of arbitrators and parties in the conduct of an efficient dispute resolution process, features of the early stages of arbitration, what is going on behind the scenes of the proceedings as well as selected issues of post-award life.
The Forum was attended by more than 200 lawyers from 25 countries of the CIS and Eastern Europe, for the first time among the participants were representatives of the United Arab Emirates, Spain and Moldova. Despite the fact that the forum has regional status, for 4 years it has already proved itself as a platform of global impact successfully developing dialogue between the West and the East.
Eastern European Dispute Resolution Forum (EEDRF) is the first and the largest practical Forum, which unites different jurisdictions and is held in Belarus. The aim of the Forum is to discuss the most relevant trends and practices arising at the moment in the sphere of dispute resolution in the CIS and Eastern Europe. The 2019 forum was held under the slogan “Let's play an arbitration symphony together!”. The 5th anniversary EEDRF-2020 will be held in Minsk in a year and will be related to the selection of applicable law.
