Elena Buranova spoke at the XXI Forum on Intellectual Property

On October 22-23, 2020, the "XXI Forum on Intellectual Property. Russia and the CIS", organized by infor-media Russia, took place at the Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya Hotel. KIAP, Attorneys at Law, acted as a partner of the Forum.

During the event, more than 30 speakers and experts representing large businesses and government authorities shared their experience and recommendations within the framework of a two-days interactive and networking. The participants discussed the main trends in the field of intellectual property and their legal aspects, identified the best practices for managing the RIA portfolio and automating processes, talked about intellectual property in IT and strategies for protecting individualization means. A feature of the Forum in 2020 was that it was held in a hybrid format (offline and online participation).

Elena Buranova, partner, head of Intellectual Property Practice of KIAP, moderated the topical unit dedicated to the protection of RIA in the field of high technologies, and also made a presentation on the legal nuances of paying royalties for the creation of official works. Experts Dmitry Sitishko, ex-director of the intellectual property department of IL, Maria Bogomolova, IP manager of SIBUR, and Lyubov Grineva, chief expert at SIBUR, shared with the participants their experience in building corporate systems for identifying and managing intellectual property, conducting patent research. Also, the experts discussed the practical issues of protecting confidential information.

   The Forum was attended by heads of legal services, specialists of legal departments, heads of intellectual property departments, experts and managers of intellectual property of companies operating in the EAEU, heads of intellectual property practice, partners of consulting and law companies, heads of patent firms and independent patent attorneys. In total, the event was attended by over 100 business representatives from 20 sectors of the economy.
