On 9 March 2023 the Eurasian CIS Legal Professionals’ Forum, in association with The Bar Council of England & Wales, will host one of the largest Eurasian legal forums: English Law Day. The event will take place at the picturesque Radisson Blu Bosphorus Hotel, Istanbul.
Stepan Sultanov, head of ICA projects & Istanbul office, will give a speech at the fourth session. Stepan will address recent tendencies of Russian state courts’ practice of application of Articles 248.1 and 248.2 of the Russian Arbitrazh Procedure Code (APC) – Lugovoy Law (exclusive jurisdiction of Russian state courts and injunctions against international arbitration involving a sanctioned Russian party).
Topics to be addressed:
- Sanctions at work, implementation and identification (including specific examples of case law & current matters).
- Arbitral institutions – where best to settle your CIS related dispute.
- Asset tracing intricacies – who, why, when, where and how? Expressing your findings in evidence.
- Arbitration - starting an arbitration (best practice); arbitration clauses: what works / what doesn’t, putting your team together and selecting an arbitrator
