KIAP acted as Partner of the IP Russia Awards 2020

On October 22, 2020, in Moscow, within the framework of the “XXI IP Forum. Russia and CIS”, the award ceremony was held for the winners of the IP Russia Awards 2020. The award was established by the organizer of the Forum - infor-media Russia - and was held for the second year in a row with the support of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent). KIAP, Attorneys at Law, acted as a partner of the Award’s nominations.

The IP Russia Awards 2020 is the first Russian award in the field of intellectual property, created to identify the best specialists in the field of intellectual property, companies that have achieved success working with IP, as well as to disseminate best practices on an ongoing basis. The mission of the competition is to raise the status of IP-professionals in society and to confirm the social significance of their intellectual work.

This year, within the framework of the Award, the Jury determined the winners among the largest companies in their industry in 9 nominations: Effective RIA Portfolio Management Strategy, Best TM Protection Strategy, Best IT Protection Strategy, Best Invention Protection Strategy, IP Accounting Automation, Best RIA Rights Commercialization, Most Effective Litigation, IP Disputes: Winner 2020, Best Innovative Project.

Elena Buranova, Partner, Head of Intellectual Property practice at KIAP, Russian registered Trademark attorney, joined the panel of experts of the Award and became a member of the Jury. Elena presented the prize in the category "The most effective litigation work". Research and Production Corporation “Uralvagonzavod”  won this nomination, and the TOP-3 leaders included Miratorg Agrobusiness Holding, Kalashnikov Concern, and SIBUR Holding.

The panel of experts included representatives of Rospatent and FIPS, international and state holdings and corporations such as Yandex, RUSNANO, Uralvagonzavod, Kaspersky Lab, Rostec, Gazprom Neft, Russian Railways, Rosatom, as well as partners and heads of intellectual property departments of international and Russian law firms Gorodissky & Partners, Squire Patton Boggs, Dentons, Capital Legal Services, and Pepeliaev Group.
