KIAP team has supported Mozolin corporate arbitration mootcourt hosted by RIMA

On 2 and 3 December 2023 took place the final rounds of the Mozolin Corporate Arbitration Mootcourt hosted by the Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration (RIMA).

Traditionally, in course of the mootcourt teams prepare pleadings based on the mootcourt problem and participate in two stages of oral hearings – online rated rounds and in-person rounds. On the verge of the in-person rounds there is always a conference hosted on the key legal issues of the mootcourt by leading practitioners in the industry. There are also several pre-moots for those willing to train before the oral rounds.

KIAP annually supports student mootcourts. In 2023, Anna Grishchenkova featured as the presiding arbitrator at the final round. The international arbitration practice associate Anastasiya Ryabova arbitrated online rounds and assessed teams’ pleadings. The dispute resolution practice associate Alexander Kartashov took part as an arbitrator of the oral rounds.

In addition, Anastasiya Ryabova coached a joint team No. 119 of the Moscow State University and Higher School of Economics. In course of the mootcourt, the team achieved impressive results, winning a pre-moot and advancing to the 1/4th of the final rounds. The team’s speaker on the merits Maria Lukoyanova was honoured as the best speaker of the competition.
