KIAP to support student team from Russian Academy of Justice at Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot
KIAP has sponsored students of the Russian Academy of Justice (RAJ) at the international rounds of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, to be held in the period between 9 and 19 April 2014 in Vienna. KIAP Partner Konstantin Astafiev and Senior Associate Irina Suspitcyna also held a moot for the team as a training exercise for the upcoming rounds.

The W. Vis Moot is one of the best-known and most prestigious international moot court competitions, held since 1994 and designed to promote international commercial arbitration as a way to resolve business disputes and teach young lawyers the necessary practical skills of representing clients in arbitration proceedings.

The RAJ team has been competing in the moot since 2010 and has done well more than once at Moscow pre-moots hosted by the law faculty of the Lomonosov MGU [Moscow State University (MSU)]. E.g., the RAJ team took 1st and 3rd places in 2013 and 2014 respectively, with team members reported among the best orators in the Russian round.

We wish luck in Vienna to the team members Daniel Alimov, Guzel Ganeyeva, Sabina Zhumatayeva, Lyubov Nemezhikova, Mikhail Sondor and their coach Vasilisa Neshatayeva!
