Daria Chernysh spoke at the “Russian Venture Forum 2018” in Kazan

From 18 to 19 April 2018 in Korston Hotel&Mall Kazan the Russian Venture Forum was held. This is the most meaningful event of Russian venture industry, which gathers the leaders of the best Russian technology companies and investors. The organizers are the Russian Venture Capital Association (RVCA) and Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the business program of the Forum.

The main topic of the forum was Russian venture market today, its future and strategic prospects. The participants have also discussed global development prospects of the IT sector, digitization, circular economy, crowdfunding investments and corporate innovations. Plenary session, round tables and discussions of topical issues concerning business operations were held within the framework of the Forum.

Daria Chernysh, Head of KIAP IP Practice, Trademark and Patent attorney, spoke at the session “IP protection strategy: road map and pitfalls”. During the discussion participants have considered the problems of patenting in Russia and USA, the lack of adequate protection of the rights of Russian inventors, shared their views on the prospects of introducing digital rights as a new object of rights, as well as on the possibilities of the government to support the development of intellectual property in general.

The Russian Venture Forum has been running its history since the year of 2000. Over 850 investors from Russia and foreign countries, 589 exhibiting companies, more than 13 236 participants from 70 Russian cities and 30 foreign countries have taken part in this event. In 2017 the total volume of requested investments comprised 198.88 million dollars. The Forum has gained a reputation of the unique platform for advanced technologies demonstration and for the development of unique solutions in the IT community.
