Head of KIAP Commercial Practice Julia Kirpikova spoke at Masters’ school 2018 of the faculty of law of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov

As of August 31 till September 2, 2018 the Masters’ school was held on the basis of the Faculty of Law of Lomonosov Moscow State University. As in past years this year the School has brought together law schools’ teachers and students, consultants and in-house lawyers, masters and trainees. KIAP, Attorneys at Law, became a partner of this event.

Masters’ school program was comprised of three eventful days: the first day was held at the Faculty of Law of Lomonosov State University, where attendees together with leading law experts, representatives of executive authorities and top officials of the largest Russian companies have discussed such important topics for future lawyers as soft skills in legal profession, the most effective court strategies and mechanisms of protection of the claims of the contractors, have assessed the legal market in the context of the sanctions war, and also thought about how lawyers will manage to  work with the technologies of the future. The second and third days were held at the “Wood lakes” park hotel, where a big sports and entertainment program took place besides the current legal problems discussion in informal setting.

Julia Kirpikova, Attorney at law and Head of KIAP Commercial practice, acted as a speaker of the first session with the topic “Antitrust regulation in a changing world: the connection between the digital economy, intellectual property and antitrust”. Julia has discussed with participants all pros and cons of IP immunity, innovations of the fifth Antimonopoly package, touched upon issues arising in the coordination of transactions involving high-tech products. "I was very impressed by the large number of participants and the level of their education attainment. Even first-year students have an idea of the current trends in the legislation and know the circumstances of case law disputes," - added Julia.

Among the speakers of the event were also representatives of major Russian and international companies: Zhanna Tomashevskaya, managing partner of "Tomashevskaya & partners", Murat Akuyev, partner of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLC, Roman Bevzenko, partner of Pepeliaev Group, Sergey Pereverzev, Head of legal Department OJSC "MegaFon", Peter Maximov, General Counsel at UC Rusal, and cultural figures - Alexander Tsypkin, writer, journalist, expert on strategic communications and Konstantin Bogomolov, a Russian theatre producer.
