Eldar Guliev takes charge of KIAP's Intellectual Property Practice

KIAP Law Firm announces the appointment of Eldar Guliev as the new head of the Intellectual Property Practice.

Eldar Guliev dedicated over 15 years to issues of registration and protection of exclusive rights to means of identification, both in administrative bodies (Rospatent) and in courts.

For more than six years, Eldar was employed as a state expert on intellectual property at Rospatent. He conducted protectability assessments for over 5,000 designations to determine their possibility of being registered as trademarks.

Later on, Eldar spent about 5 years as chief adviser to the legal support department for the registration and use of trademarks at a global Russian energy company. Over the years of his work there, Eldar supported transactions on the disposal of exclusive rights to trademarks (license and exclusive right alienation agreements), advised the holding's divisions and subsidiaries on the use of means of identification, and monitored and suppressed the illegal use of the company's trademarks.

For the last 4 years, Eldar has been engaged in private practice as an independent patent attorney. He is one of the select few patent attorneys with positive experience in registering trademarks of high renown. In particular, he registered the G-Drive trademark for Gazprom Neft PJSC (there are about 250 trademarks of high renown in the Russian Federation).

At KIAP Law Firm, Eldar will continue registration work on trademarks, industrial designs, and patents and will also represent clients in the Chamber for Patent Disputes, Intellectual Property Court, and other judicial and administrative bodies.

Eldar has our congratulations and best wishes for success in his new role at KIAP Law Firm!
