Elena Buranova appointed a member of INTA Commercialization of Brands Committee for the term of 2020-2021

In the beginning of October, new appointments in professional committees of INTA became known. Head of Intellectual Property practice of KIAP, Attorneys at Law, Russian registered Trademark attorney and INTA member, Elena Buranova, was appointed to be a member of INTA Commercialization of Brands Committee for the term of 2020-2021. The appointment takes effect on January 1, 2020.

This year, more than 3,700 members of the organization applied for inclusion into the INTA committees. It is the INTA committees that play the leading role in the implementation of new initiatives and programs of the Association, therefore new members are required to actively participate and be involved in the work of their committees.

The primary activity of INTA Commercialization of Brands Committee is related to develop resources including educational programs and best practice guidelines relating to the in-market commercialization of brand offerings. This Committee will consider such issues as marketing and advertising regulatory issues, agreements including licenses, distribution, supply and agency agreements, tax, brand valuation, brand evaluation, and related issues to support the commercial success of product and service offerings.

The International Trademark Association (INTA) was founded in 1878 and nowadays it is the key global coordinator of the professional activity of IP market participants, headquartered in New York City. At present, the association includes more than 7,200 organizations from more than 187 countries of the world. The INTA's member organizations represent some 31,000 trademark professionals, brand owners, scientists and specialists. The Association aims to protect trademarks, as well as intellectual property rights as it is one of the most important elements of effective internal and external trade.
