Shippinglaw.Ru is two years old

Two years ago – on September 26th, 2013, the same day when UN celebrates the International Day of Sea, we have launched the Shippinglaw.Ru website, a bilingual hub for maritime and shipping lawyers worldwide.

Since then the site has acquired the reputation of a sole source of shipping and maritime law in Russia, which provides open access to many legal publications, book reviews, interviews and translation of the leading compendiums in the field of maritime and shipping law.

As many visitors remarked, the site has become a flexible instrument for many Russian and international maritime lawyers, as well as beginners and experienced specialists in the field of maritime law, insurers, exporters and importers. It has also been of great help for undergraduate and postgraduate students and practitioners in preparing academic articles in Russia and abroad. Its rising popularity is also confirmed by the fact that many leading maritime publishers and companies, including Hellenic Shipping News, Skuld and others, have extensively been referring to it.

It is very pleasant to receive numerous letters and messages from students and fresh lawyers, who thank us for inspiration and decide to devote themselves to maritime law practice. Isn’t it a major comeback for all our efforts invested into Shippinglaw.Ru project?

In the nearest future, we plan to further develop and elaborate the site, to extend the information base in Russian and English, to provide practical analytics, conduct interviews with various experts as well as to translate articles of leading scholars and many more.

We will be glad to receive your feedback about our site and your suggestions on improving it. Please forward your proposals to Aybek Ahmedov, head of shipping and transport law practice at KIAP, Attorneys at Law, to this email: a.ahmedov@kiaplaw.ru
