Anton will develop and expand the corporate practice of the firm, will consult Russian and international companies on corporate legal matters, including corporate restructuring support, investment projects and M&A transactions governed by Russian or English law, as well as provide legal support to clients entering into the public capital markets. In addition, Anton will provide his expertise to increase the effectiveness of corporate management structures and will advise on natural resources law.
Anton Samokhvalov has extensive experience in providing legal support to companies having worked in major international consulting and law firms as Baker & McKenzie and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Anton has also a significant experience as a legal counselor having worked for more than 2 years as a head of legal department of JSC "Tambeyneftegas", which is one of the group of companies that holds the licenses for Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye and Malo-Yamalskoye gas condensate fields.
Mr. Samokhvalov graduated from the Law Faculty of Elets State University and completed his post-graduate education in Moscow State Law Academy.
He has worked on a number of large M&A transactions in Russia which involved the participation of foreign investors, including the purchase of an oil refinery plant, market price of which was assessed at USD 200 – 300 million, and the sale of a big retail chain in Lipetsk Region to Russia’s leading retailer (at a price of over USD 100 million). Anton advised on the structuring and partial sale of one of the largest Russian corrugated paper production business. Mr. Samokhvalov also advised on the transaction structure of the purchase of shares in a major fertilizer producer (at a price of about USD 200 million) and on the establishment of a joint venture for one of the largest edible oil producers in Russia and one of world’s major agribusiness groups (the capitalization of the JV was over USD 300 million).
