Alexey Sizov Speaking at the Second Annual Forum on Customs Compliance in Russia & CIS

On September 26-27, 2012, the C5’s Second Annual Forum on Customs Compliance in Russia & CIS was held in Moscow, at Mariott Tverskaya Hotel.  Alexey Sizov, a lawyer and an expert of the customs law and foreign trade practice at Korelskiy, Ischuk, Astafiev and Partners, Attorneys at Law spoke during the first day of the event and presented the speech New Elements of Customs Sanctions: Identifying Wide-Spread Errors and Minimizing the Risks and Violations Causing Potential Sanctions.

Alexey spoke about the changes in terms of administrative and criminal liability for offenses in the field of the customs law, identified and commented on typical mistakes often made when preparing customs declarations that may lead to potential liability measures. Furthermore, in his speech he touched upon the key issues of exercising customs control after the goods have been released and commented on main areas of interstate customs cooperation among the participants of the Customs Union in the field of law enforcement measures.
