During November 18-20, 2013 the British Embassy in Moscow hosted the English Law Week. KIAP Partners Konstantin Astafiev and Julia Osadchaya represented the firm at this event. Konstantin Astafiev spoke on recent developments in the enforcement of international arbitration awards and asymmetrical arbitration clauses. His presentation can be found here.
The conference was centered on issues dealt with by in-house counsel and legal advisors in the spheres of M&A transactions, banking & finance, regulatory issues, and contracts. English and Russian law experts spoke on topics ranging from fraud and offshore zones to the enforceability of international arbitration awards in Russia.
English Law Week has been organized by the Law Society of England and Wales, the British Russian Law Association, the Anglo-Russian Law Association, the Bar Council of England and Wales, and the British Embassy in Moscow. The conference was participated by leading law firms in Russia and the UK, was held in Russia for the second time.
