KIAP to support Russia - Korea 2014 international motor run
KIAP, Attorneys at Law, will serve as the official legal counsel partner for all stages of the Russia — Korea 2014 international motor run to take place between 6 July and 30 August 2014. The motor run marks the 150th anniversary of voluntary migration of Koreans to Russia and the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Korea. Alexey Sizov, attorney at law, head of customs and international trade practice, will be representing KIAP at the motor run and taking an active part in it.

The motor run is sponsored by a whole number of Russian ministries and agencies: Ministry for Regional Development of Russia, Ministry of Culture of Russia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Russian Geographical Society, Federal Agency for Tourism, All-Russia Union of Koreans, MOO OOK, and NKA of Koreans MO, with support from the embassies of North Korea in the RF, Republic of Korea in the RF, and China in the RF. 

The honorary members of the steering committee include RF Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, RF Presidential Envoy for International Co-operation in the Arctic and Antarctic and member of the RF Federation Council Artur Chilingarov, Chairman of the RF State Duma Committee for the Affairs of Nationalities Gadzhimet Safaraliyev, RF Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Igor Morgulov, Chairman of All-Russia Union of Koreans Vasily Tso and others.

Motor run participants will include Russian public figures, politicians and businessmen, representatives from NGOs in the participating countries (North Korea, ROK, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kirghizia), figures in culture, sports, tourism and the media – in all, 64 participants in 20 motor vehicles, having set out from Moscow, will in 36 days drive through 40 cities and 11 countries to finish in the Korean city of Pusan.

The motor run will include conferences and workshops, press briefings for federal, regional and local media, screenings of feature films and documentaries focused on Korea, flower-offering ceremonies at memorials, orphanage tours, as well as cultural, entertainment and sports programmes. Among the highlights will be the motorcade's crossing of the 38th Parallel.

The motor run is vital for the relationship of friendship between Russia and the countries in the Korean Peninsula and China, and expansion of economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The motor run will give a powerful boost to joint projects in business, research, culture, education, tourism and other areas of cooperation between Russia and Korea.
