From October 29 to November 2, 2018 the annual SibLegalWeek business forum was held in Novosibirsk on the topic: “Security of government and business: forms and boundaries”. Corporate practice partner Anton Samokhvalov spoke at a corporate session on the balance of parties interests in a corporate contract.
The forum was attended by business owners and business leaders, accountants, financiers, lawyers and law students. Representatives of the judicial community and state bodies, practicing lawyers, attorneys and tax consultants traditionally spoke at the event.
In addition to the corporate block, the SiblegalWeek program also included relevant sessions: bankruptcy, taxes, land and real estate, a criminal session, electronic bidding and government contracts, and psychology in court. This year, the program was expanded with separate sessions on digital technologies, access to international markets, standards of legal assistance and the topic of partnership in the legal business.
A special feature of SibLegalWeek are improvised trial mocks between existing lawyers, university students, which demonstrate to the participants of the legal week how the judging takes place, how the arguments of the parties are assessed, and what factors influence decision making.
