The results of the annual international ranking The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East & Africa 2016 were announced today. The ranking highlights the successful work of the Firm: ‘The ‘team of trusted specialists’ at KIAP provides ‘an outstanding combination of business acumen and legal know-how’.
The report recommends the team in nine practice areas:

Legal 500 expanded its recommendations comparing to 2015 and highlighted three practice areas of KIAP for the first time ever: Corporate, commercial and M&A, Banking and finance and Capital markets.
The effective work of nine leading lawyers is pointed out in the report – Andrey Korelskiy, Ilya Ischuk, Konstantin Astafiev, Konstantin Suvorov, Mikhail Uspenskiy, Anton Samokhvalov, Julia Osadchaya, Sergey Popov and Julia Kirpikova.
Clients say Andrey Korelskiy is ‘fast, efficient and always looks ahead for ways to solve problems’.
Ilya Ischuk is named ‘pragmatic, committed and precise – a masterful antitrust lawyer’, ‘insightful and strong on all fronts’.
Konstantin Astafiev is noted for being ‘a highly effective negotiator, who really gets under the skin of a project, and has a real appreciation of clients’ commercial goals’.
According to sources, IP practice is ‘dedicated and proactive’ having ‘an excellent sense of clients’ business interests’, providing ‘user-friendly’ advice on all IP-related matters’. Practice head Konstantin Suvorov is represented in the report as ‘highly strategic and well capable of explaining complex matters in a straightforward way’.
Tax partner Mikhail Uspenskiy earned the honorable mentions of the clients for being ‘brilliant tax structuring specialist’ who ‘evaluates potential tax risks of cross-border operations like a visionary’. By virtue of tandem of Mikhail and Corporate practice partner Anton Samokhvalov, who appeared in the ranking for the first time ever this year, the team is marked for providing ‘an outstanding combination of business acumen and legal know-how’.
‘A client-oriented lawyer with huge experience in capital markets’ Julia Osadchaya is represented in the ranking for ‘huge experience in banking and finance, structured products and securitisation’, as well as strong cross-border expertise, and for ‘excellent knowledge of legislation and the Russian securitisation market’.
Sergey Popov is named a ‘capable, hardworking lawyer, who provides in-depth answers’, and ‘is able to adapt superbly to client requests’.
Senior associate employment specialist Julia Kirpikova appears in the ranking as a lawyer with ‘excellent technical skills, and is extremely easy to work with’.
