KIAP partner Anna Grischenkova moderated a round table discussion during the IBA Litigation Committee Annual Conference in Zurich

On May 3-5, 2017 the IBA Litigation Committee hosted the Annual Conference in Zurich, Switzerland, in which more than 300 litigation lawyers from all over the world took part.

Anna Grischenkova, partner of Litigation and International Commercial Arbitration practices of KIAP as well as the regional representative of Russia in the IBA Litigation Committee, took an active part in the conduct of the conference and acted as a moderator of one of the round tables.

The Conference was devoted to “Innovations in litigation”: the lawyers discussed the latest technological achievements that can be used in court, new ways to obtain and provide evidence, as well as how AI and technological advancements will impact the future of litigation specialists. During the round tables, the lawyers have also discussed which technical innovations are already used in courts of different jurisdictions, as well as challenges the lawyers face when convincing the court or the opponents to utilise latest technical innovations.

As Anna Grischenkova remarked, the litigation symposium of IBA is particularly popular among the litigation specialists worldwide since it is a unique forum for exchange of experience and creation of necessary conditions to handle complex litigation proceedings, including transnational ones: “Each year after the forum is over I return to Russia, inspired and full of ideas that I am eager to bring into life, and I am grateful to my fellow members of the forum for such discussions”.

The International Bar Association (IBA), established in 1947, is the world's leading organisation of international legal practitioners, bar associations and law societies. The Association has a membership of 80,000 individual lawyers and more than 200 bar associations and law societies spanning all continents and has considerable experience in providing assistance to the global legal community.
