On 6–7 September, 2018 the Swedish Arbitration Association hosted its international conference Swedish Arbitration Days. The biennial conference brings together some of the most renowned and prominent international arbitration practitioners, internationally reputed arbitrators, scientists and other experts.
The topic of the Swedish Arbitration Days 2018 was “Advocacy in International Arbitration”. Within six sessions participants discussed current issues such as the use of rhetoric in hearings, best practices in written advocacy, and interaction with the opposing party's witnesses. Anna Grishchenkova, Litigation and International Commercial Arbitration Partner of KIAP, attended the Swedish Arbitration Days and shared her impressions: "The topic of the conference this year was amazing and eternally relevant, it is great that there was an opportunity to exchange experience and best practices of arbitration with the best lawyers in this field and at the same time to discuss current projects in Stockholm".
The Swedish Arbitration Association is an organization for lawyers worldwide engaged in the practice and theory of arbitration. Sweden is a long-standing center for international arbitration and the SAA seeks to promote the interest in and knowledge of arbitration as a dispute resolution method. The SAA arranges conferences and seminars and training for arbitrators.
