Anna Grishchenkova, Litigation and International Commercial Arbitration Partner of KIAP, Attorneys at Law, appointed as Regional Representative Russian Federation of the IBA Litigation Committee for the second time. The selection of a candidate for the position of a regional representative is carried out by internal voting of the Committee leaders on the basis of recommendations of members and officers of various IBA committees. Anna will occupy the new position for two years: from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021.
The IBA Litigation Committee is the largest and one of the most influential, unites more than a thousand of litigators from all around the world specializing both in national courts and in cross-border disputes. The Litigation Committee focuses on the legal, practical and procedural issues involved in conducting litigation. The issues arising in international litigation receive particular attention, including issues such as choice of jurisdiction and applicable law, role and advantages of international arbitration in dispute resolution.
One of the main tasks for Anna in the new status of a Regional Representative of Russian Federation will be active representation of the Russian lawyers’ and the whole Russian legal system’s interests in the Committee. Anna will coordinate the work of Russian experts, who are members of the Committee or just planning to join its work.
It is to be recalled that in 2016 Anna became the Regional Representative of Russian Federation of the IBA Litigation Committee for the first time and occupied this position for two years from 2016 to 2018, and in 2018 she became a Co-Chair of the Young Litigators Forum of the International Bar Association. Furthermore, Anna actively participates in annual events and regular meetings of the Association committees and is one of the most highly sought Russian speakers at various IBA conferences.
