On 29-31 October 2015 the annual German-Russian Young Leaders Conference was held in Kazan. The capital of Tatarstan hosted more than 250 participants, among them members of parliaments, businessmen, scientists, journalists and artists from Russia and Germany at the age of 25 to 40 years. KIAP’s partner Anna Grishchenkova attended the Conference.

At the opening ceremony the Russian and German ministers of foreign affairs Sergei Lavrov and Frank-Walter Steinmeier in their welcoming speeches noted the spirit of a new generation of leaders to restore dialogue and trust.

The Conference is a joint initiative of the Berlin-based non-profit association "Die neue Generation" (“The New Generation”) and Saint Petersburg State University of Economics. This year the event was supported by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov. During three days the participants discussed a wide range of issues, from international relations and energy policy to e-government and education.
